I chose to fade the sound at the end and cut the video 2 seconds before to end the film smoothly.

After I did the special effects I decided to put everything together in Premiere Pro CS3.
You can see here that the mask has moved to accommodated my original selection.

I then placed a mask on the top layer and inverted it to just show what I have selected. To save time I chose two points where I selected the mask at either ends of the frame so that it would follow the movement of the car without having to do it to every frame.

I then placed the car clip right ontop of the man walking one so it looks like it would meet if you cut the clip. This is because when I put the mask on I have to position it perfectly so it looks like the car is just about to hit the person.

I decided to use FX visionlab because I find it easier to do this technique.
First of all I cut the clip into two and layered them so the car clip was on top of the other clip.

To first make the special effect is to record the car going past then the character walking in front of the road. You have to record both things in the same shot because if it was a separate shot then the camera could move slightly and ruin the effect when you apply the techniques.
