Task Four: Edited Image

I decided to chose the photograph with the tunnel and i edited it using the black and white setting on Photoshop CS3 and also adjusting curves. I chose this image because i feel it will have more of a chance to be approved by BigStockPhoto

I saved this photo as a jpeg so it would reduce the file size and even though it could compramise quality, I decided to take the risk because i feel it was the rigth move.
The techniques i used in photoshop was Black & White which i used to adjust the seperate colours and curves the give the stones more shine.
I chose to have a shallow depth of feild so that it created a more eerie feel to the tunnel and i split up the image with half in focus gradually fading out of focus. This focus leads the eye to just below the middle of the photo which is the most focused part.
I also did some more editing, using gaussian blur. What i did was duplicate the layer twice to create three layers of the same picture then apply different strength of gaussian blur to the top two layers. After that i used the layer mask tool and a black to transparent gradient to merge the layers together to greaten the shallow depth of field.

The keywords i used was Brayford, Bridge, Student Village, Lincoln, Macro, Night, , Rocks, Twilight, Stones
This is my final picture and i will now try and submit this to bigstockphoto for approval.
